Just when we've recovered from The Last Weekend In April (Penn Relays), The First Weekend In May (Broad Street).....Philly Run Fest was back on Sunday, June 2nd! This year we are extremely excited to have announced and welcomed our friends from ASICS as the official footwear sponsor of the race! Did you run, jog, walk? Let us know how it was.
OUR National, sorry, WORLDWIDE Holiday, Global Running Day, is Wednesday, June 5th (shouldn't we all have off from work?). How are you celebrating? We'll have group runs in Manayunk and University on 6/5, as well as a group run on 6/6 in Center City.
NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships and Olympic Trials are this month, both in Eugene, Oregon? Anyone going? I'm debating the latter.....
Penn Relays Summer Showcase is back, with Meet 1 happening this past weekend. There are two more upcoming in the series if you'd like to participate or spectate.
Sixers.....no comment. Phillies.....too early to comment!
There are some great additions currently on, and soon to be on, our online and instore footwear walls (anything below not hyperlinked I'll come back and do so when the shoes release):
Altra Torin 7 (there's a 'blue' colorway that gives Villanova Wildcats AND Phillies City Connect uniforms)
ASICS GEL–KAYANO 31 (released on June 1 and holding a high position on my list of things to acquire)
HOKA Skyflow (I wish I had these NOW. Philadelphia Runner will be one of the few places you'll be able to get these in Philly)
Mizuno Wave Rider 28 (last Friday I saw these and decided that they're on my list of things to acquire)
New Balance Fresh Foam X 860v14 (currently running in this now, currently loving it)
Nike Pegasus 41 (Releasing on Global Running Day.....Wednesday can't get here fast enough.....mentally I'm already wearing them)
Saucony Kinvara 15 (saw these in in Austin last November.....am I just getting all of these shoes at this point)
The aforementioned is NOT an admission that I have a sneaker problem. I haven't even talked about some of our new apparel and accessories. I'll save that for later this month.
If you can't wait, continue your online visit with us AND/OR check out some of the events that your Philadelphia Runner Family has lined up in June 2024, including our regularly scheduled runs from Center City, Manayunk, Glen Mills, and University City. That information can be found HERE. Highlights include, but are not limited to:
Philadelphia: Global Run Culture & Storytelling Event
PDR x Yards Bridge Run
AACR Philadelphia Marathon 26.2 Training Kickoff Run
This awesomeness all started with Philly Run Fest.....
Looking forward to seeing you out there!
