Wednesday, June Fifth, Two-Thousand And Twenty-Four. How are you celebrating? Philadelphia Runner has group runs in both Manayunk and University City on 6/5, as well as a group run on Thursday, June 6th in Center City.
A little history lesson: What we know as Global Running Day was formerly known as National Running Day. It started way back in 2009. Global Running Day as we now know it was first celebrated on Wednesday, June 1.....way back in 2016. We've had 4 different POTUS since '09 and none of them have given us a day off haha.
In addition to what we're cooking up at PR, there are plenty of Run Clubs in the area who are running this Wednesday. Or you can get out for a solo run. I'll share something with you - HOKA has bestowed upon us a special Global Running Day Capsule, featuring limited-edition colors and styles. I bought a pair. Just a little something extra as we observe our worldwide celebration of running for all ages and abilities.
