Created over a decade ago by American Express, Small Business Saturday (and now Sunday) encourages consumers (that’s us friends) to Shop Small and Shop Local. Initially intended to persuade holiday shoppers to physically visit the small/local stores and shops of your choosing, it has since evolved into those businesses' online addresses as well.
We're going to double down on that and ask that you not only visit with us in–store and online to spend time with all of our brand options, but you also pay attention to a global brand that lives right here in our neighborhood…..
Diadora, the Italian sportswear and footwear powerhouse, makes its North American roots right here in South Philadelphia. Founded in 1948, the company produces football boots (soccer cleats) and footballs (soccer balls), as well as a wide range of apparel, tennis shoes (for tennis), lifestyle footwear, and running shoes. And as you already know, Diadora is also the sponsor of our beloved Philly 10K. It truly is a Philly thing. It is here where I would say something related to the P10K x Diadora apparel collection and how there are still some items left but nope, ALL GONE! This is why I am trying to prep you friends…..pick up your apparel and footwear as soon as you can.
I’ve been rocking Diadora since the 90s. If you had a pair back then, it meant you were “getting money” (Again, I have no factual evidence to support this claim….but I’m supremely confident in my opinion)! If you’re rocking a pair now, it more than likely means you covet high performing, comfortable, stylish apparel and footwear (this claim I can prove)! Diadora’s North American headquarters are here in South Philadelphia, so if you don’t already have any merch…..support local.
Diadora’s heart and passion is centered around providing absolute attention and support to/for “The Athlete”. That’s you, me, World–Class tennis players, Boston Marathon winners, Couch–To–5Kers, Olympic hopefuls, and the person walking down the street, or to the store, or to grab a coffee.
If you’re already rocking Diadora, cool. Now is a great time to grab something else. I picked up the DROMO collaboration this week. Tried to buy the new trail shoe today but nope, all gone in my size. Should’ve practiced what I preached. I won’t sleep on the new apparel collection though. Buttery soft.....you can both train and chill in these items. And with that, I’m off to support a small business, Philadelphia Runner, and shop local.
Forget something from your holiday shopping list? We've got you covered. Continue your online visit with us, or stop by one of our four store locations. And keep your eyes open for ongoing and upcoming sales and specials running (pun obviously intended) throughout Cyber Monday!
