The New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080v13 releases today, October 13th. Yes, it’s Friday. No, we’re not superstitious. Ok, maybe a little. I haven’t watched an…..wait. I can’t say it. I’ll jinx it.
At any rate, while you’re running in these beauties, here are a few things to remember:
If a black cat is in front of you, change directions before it crosses your path. If you see a ladder, do not run underneath it. If you’re a city runner, avoid stepping on any cracks in the pavement. Do not break any glass. And by all means, if someone is wearing a hockey mask, and they don’t play for our Philadelphia Flyers, RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!!!
All jokes aside, it would be bad (luck) to not stop in and pick these up. Your friends at Philadelphia Runner have had these puppies a little early to get you ready for the big release (did we mention it is today, Friday, October 13th). I mentioned last week that this 1080 has some of the most cushiony (still not sure if this is a word) cushion I have ever experienced. And I couldn’t drop any on–foot pics. What a difference a week makes.
The shoe’s upper is extremely lightweight, and the width sizing is perfect. One of the most versatile shoes you’ll find on the market – one–milers up to ultramarathons, training AND race day. I should just buy every color and all of my running requirements would be covered. The v13 is also great for walking. I’m going for a walk as soon as I’m done typing. Or a run. Maybe both. Probably both. Definitely both! Before we jump into the shoe’s specifics, our very own Jennifer Collins has also been logging some mileage in the 1080s. Here are the particulars in her words…..
The Individual Experience, as shared with us by our very own Jennifer Collins:
As a fan of high cushioned shoes, I'm always looking for a new shoe to add to the rotation. New Balance's new 1080 definitely has a top spot.
The v13 is soft, comfy and has a ton of cushion. It definitely feels lighter and is not bulky as you sometimes find with highly cushioned shoes. Great mesh upper and an improved fit. Gone is the one–piece heel which has been replaced with a really nicely padded heel collar.
A great update for fit and feel and the shoe looks great too! A win for New Balance with the 1080v13!
