What’s up Philadelphia…..and friends joining us from around the world! Here are a few things we’re excited about in the Robust Realm of Running!
Locally
Philadelphia Distance Run (PDR), sponsored by Brooks, is this Sunday! We actually have your whole weekend planned so you just have to RSVP and show up: Friday. Saturday. Sunday.
Next Monday could be understandably tough because the weekend will be so amazing. We got you: add this NEW trail race, sponsored by Altra, to your calendar now so you have something to look forward to in a few short weeks!
Nationally
DyeStat has released their Cross Country Top 100 for high school girls and boys. Should more local athletes be on these lists?
After a thunderstorm forced most of the heats/races to be cancelled, Scotland swept the professional podiums on Sunday as Josh Kerr (Brooks Athlete) and Jemma Reekie (Nike Athlete) won the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile. In a casual flex, Kerr pulled off his Hyperion Elites, held them in front of the camera, and credited them for the win saying, “these should fly off the shelves.” I’m sold! Grab a pair HERE!
Elle St. Pierre (New Balance Athlete), in her first race since giving birth to her son, ran a 4:23 at the 5th Avenue Mile!
Globally
Um, 11K runners were disqualified from the Mexico City Marathon. Yep, that’s 11,000! Here’s the report.
The Copenhagen Half Marathon (CPH Half), sponsored by Nike, is this weekend in Denmark. Bandit Running and On have some things cooking on the side with our friends from NBRO Running. Check it out…..
The Diamond League Season concludes this weekend in Eugene, Oregon with Nike's Prefontaine Classic. Every event on the track and the field is a Final! No filler. Who ya got?
Have a great week! If you can't wait that long, stop into one of our stores (Center City, University City, Manayunk, or Glen Mills) to say hello. We’ll see you back here for next week’s recap. And we’ll see you before that at all of this weekend’s Philadelphia Distance Run events…..
