The 2025 Broad Street Run Lottery is now open, and will close on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Lottery results will be announced on the week of February 16. Anxious? Here's some good news.....we don't have to idle while our fates are being decided. Here are a few things we can do, to prepare us for Race Day, while we wait to find out if we're in or not:
1. Invest in a pair of waterproof shoes TODAY. Now I'm not telling you that it's going to rain on Sunday, May 4th. But I honestly don't remember a Broad Street Run when it didn't. It's also supposed to rain this Thursday morning, snow on Saturday, and then snow/rain basically ALL next week! Consider this a friendly heads up.....
2. Familiarize yourself with the race’s official charity partners: American Cancer Society, American Association for Cancer Research, Back on My Feet, Fairmount Park Conservancy, and Students Run Philly Style. Juussstttt in case you don't get in, these great organizations can help you secure a spot (while they still have bibs).
3. Don't wait on popular footwear models. The day/week after the announcement will be busy at our stores, and that pair you really wanted to run Broad Street in might be on someone else's feet. 3a. Two of my favorite models this year – the Mizuno Neo Zen and the Nike Pegasus Premium – are limited edition models that are flying out of the door. Don't sleep on these!
4. Don’t forget your Philadelphia Runner Apparel! Perfect for training, running, and post–running – and these items will become increasingly popular as May The 4th Be With You approaches.
5. Sign up for Team Philly Race Training. As much as I'd like to believe this.....those 10 miles aren't going to run themselves. Kick off training on Saturday, February 22nd!
