The Nike Zoom Fly is one of those shoes that has garnered somewhat of a cult following. It falls into the Tempo Footwear category, so think speed work and intervals. Also, consider it for training runs at race pace and any session in which you're looking for a Super Trainers. Yes all of the above. In fact, depending on who you ask, the Zoom Fly CREATED the Super Trainer category! Back in the Breaking 2 featuring Eliud Kipchoge, et al. days.
The latest iteration, the Zoom Fly 6, is one of most beautiful looking editions thus far. I like it for all of the aforementioned, as well as casually styling on your friends. Kipchoge has a special colorway and the story goes that, whenever someone trains with The GOAT, they're asked to plant a tree at his base camp to signify their growth. The sockliner graphics mimic that growth with branches moving forward towards the front of the shoe. The red clay color fade nods to the Kenyan dirt that stains the shoes when training. The font is a play on African trees that have fractal–like patterns on the surfaces.
Whichever colorway you choose, be prepared for a fast ride with Nike’s lightest and most responsive foam.....and Nike's highest energy return. Super. Trainer.
