2004. What was going on?
The Summer Olympics was held in Athens, Greece. I was there for my honeymoon last year. HIGHLY recommend.
TheFacebook launched. Then Justin Timberlake, I mean Sean Parker, told Jesse Eisenberg, I mean Mark Zuckerberg, to just call it Facebook (now Meta).
Pre–Podcast Cam'ron Giles dropped the Purple Haze album. I had just purchased my second car, a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville, and I played this CD (compact disc) on repeat all that December.
Friends went off of the air. I preferred Seinfeld to Friends, but Chandler Bing.....I relate to this character, and George Costanza, in a way in which none of us have time for me to explain. Friends reruns are on constantly, though, which is a nice primetime television treat!
Speaking of running (see what I did there).....Y2K + Four was also the first time that Philadelphia Runner opened its doors to this beautiful city. Simply put, we have grown into the stores to visit and website to browse when looking for the latest and greatest in running footwear, apparel, accessories, and nutrition to fulfill your walking, jogging, training, running, and racing needs.
This January, to commemorate 20 years of Philadelphia Runner, we brought back our Vintage Logo. At that time I mentioned that we'll be celebrating all year –
Are you joining us at our 20th Anniversary Party this Sunday, November 10th? Click HERE to RSVP!
– and just in time for The Holidays, we've introduced a NEW Anniversary Collection.
This entire capsule, with NEW LOGOS, is the perfect addition to your Philadelphia Runner collection and wardrobe! You can take any and every one of these pieces out for a run, jog, or walk. You can throw these on when watching the Eagles, Sixers, Flyers, or whomever you support from wherever in the country you are joining us.
As you wear these tees, hoody (SO SOFT & COZY), and joggers (I might wear these to Sunday's party), please remember: think of us, Philadelphia Runner, as Your Community! We're the World Headquarters and primary resource for Philly’s running scene and we very much look forward to supporting more of your races, run clubs, fitness groups, and amazing causes.
See you out there!
