The original Diadora Equipe Nucleo is still in my current running shoe rotation. In fact – it's right next to my couch, right in my visual axis (sight line), so I can grab and go at almost any time my body is cooperating. I recommend sizing up in Diadora .5 size (I normally wear 11.5 and all of my Diadora running shoes are size 12) as their models tend to have a "fits small to size" fit.
When I first ran in the Nucleo 1 I was flat out BLOWN AWAY by the fit, weight and comfort level of the cushioning. Recently I received this bit of intel that I'm happy to share with you: the new Nucleo 2 has a heel widening of by 9mm, midfoot by 13mm, and forefoot by 5mm. WHAT?!?!? Amongst other things I'm consistently chirping about my fat (wide), flat feet. Like, not wide enough to need wide shoes.....but wide enough that more narrow models only work for me for shorter distances. Or just styling with a nice outfit, which is my FAVORITE sport.
