Global Running Day 2024 – the Nike Pegasus 41 releases to a global audience. I loved the look. I loved the feel. I loved the vibe. It was summer, which typically doesn't mean rain, or cold, but as a future planner, I'm like "I need something like this for the rain".
I'm thinking how it ALWAYS rains on Broad Street Sunday. And you never know what to expect on Philly Marathon Saturday.....or Sunday. And that now since I'm somewhat pain free (hands clasped in prayer, fingers crossed), training has been REAL. I need something like this for the rain.
I may have mentioned before that I'm a weirdo about dates. I won't bore you, so let's go with October 2024. It's gonna pour outside. And I need to run. No.....NEED TO RUN. And for some reason in the blessed/lucky–to–be–me running rotation that I boast, there is NOTHING waterproof. But what's releasing that next day? The Nike Pegasus 41 Gore–Tex. I can't make this stuff up.
Waterproof, check. But the upper still delivers lightweight, breathable security and has plenty of toe box room. I did go up .5 size as I tend to wear thicker socks in the rain, and in the winter, but I could've remained in my normal 11.5 and been fine. Still feels fast, and even as a stability shoe guy (which I always say, but just to add a reference frame), I felt supported with each responsive, cushioned step. I'm really digging this color combination, but more importantly – during this current training block, in which I've been focusing on shorter interval runs as I assess the Achilles and try to lose some weight, I'm equipped for all conditions, wet or dry, hot or cold. The 41 GTX is versatile enough to wear everyday, so don't feel the need to save for foul weather. I said this the last time about my current shoe rotation. There are definitely some edits as the seasons change, but I keep a pair of Pegs in the rotation at all times! Gore–Tex models are no exception.
