Right off the bat, I know the title is cringy. I'm owning it. But have you ever just known something was going to be special as soon as you.....let me start this over.
The very moment I slipped on the On Cloudrunner 2 for the first time I knew it was "one of those ones". I'm old school, so I don't really do right–out–of–the–box running. I wear a shoe casually when I first get them.....then the next day I'm in the streets (on the roads who am I kidding haha, I live in Wayne). I kinda didn't want to run in these because I love this colorway so much. But I do want.....NEED.....my run fits to be proper, so.....
The last Wednesday in April is when I had my first voyage in the On Cloudrunner 2, and it’s been heavy in rotation ever since. Although this shoe is primarily classified as stability, which I most certainly need, a wide range of runners and walkers can use the shoe. Please don't shy away from trying it out if you prefer a neutral shoe. The midsole, which is now made up of an updated Helion™ superfoam, provides (excellent) durability, softer cushioning, and has improved energy return. Meaning:
– The Cloudrunner 2 is built to handle whatever you throw at it: walks, light jogs and runs, daily trainings, and long-distance adventures
– The Cloudrunner 2 is plush, comfortable, cozy – whatever adjective you prefer
– The Cloudrunner 2 is bouncy, so you won't feel as if you're sinking into the aforementioned (soft) cushioning
We currently live in a running climate where a lot of my fellow runners have a daily training shoe, a long run shoe, a tempo shoe, and a race day shoe. I am not here to knock that (I'd be hypocritical as I subscribe to this formula as well). But if minimalism is your vibe (also not knocking that), or you forget your tempo shoes on speedwork day and/or your carbon–plated puppies on race day, there will be no need to fret if the Cloudrunner 2 is on your feet.
I just had the urge to end that last paragraph with "it's like that, and that's the way it is". I don't know why, and I'm glad that I didn't. But I'm mentioning it here, so what's the difference, right?
