Launch Day - Nike Pegasus 41

    by Lionel Brahim Brodie III

Basketball was my first (athletic) love. When I was younger, the February of every NBA season started to mean 3 things to me: (1) Michael Jeffrey Jordan was going to play in the NBA All-Star Game, (2) Michael Jeffrey Jordan was going to debut his new Nike Air Jordan shoe, and (3) Michael Jeffrey Jordan was going to be starring in the latest Nike Air Jordan shoe commercial. Without fail, at a time close to each Feast of Saint Valentine, the aforementioned 1, 2, and 3 would happen. And I'd spend the rest of the week waiting for the shoes to hit my local sneaker shop so I could purchase. This was well before the days of online release dates, teasers, leaked images, and so on......

Running is my new, first (athletic) love. When I was younger than I am now, the June of every running season began to mean 3 things to me: (1) The Prefontaine Classic would take place in Eugene, Oregon, (2) Nike athletes would debut the new Pegasus shoe during warmups, and (3) Nike would "air" a Pegasus commercial. I watched Pre on Peacock this year, without commercials, so I don't know if #3 actually happened.....but I've been spending the last 2 weeks waiting for this shoe to hit my local sneaker shop so I could purchase, which is of course Philadelphia Runner. Lucky for me, you, us – we live in the age of online release dates, teasers, and official images, so I knew that the 5th day of this year's 6th month would be Christmas (or whatever you celebrate, if you celebrate) in June.

Here's why I'm excited about the Pegasus 41, other than the pristine "Grinch", "Winter At Tiffany's", and "Pomegranate Sunset" colorways.....I loved the Pegasus 40. They looked good, I felt fast, and even as a stability shoe wearer, I felt support with each responsive step. I love when a product does what it's supposed to. That's why the Peg has been trusted as your/our daily workhorse since 1983.

    Happy Holidays!
